In Marks, Signs, and Communications, we had to design a mark for our partner using their initials and character description. My partner's intials were "S, S" and she gave me a character description with a list of hobbies, interests, and personality traits:

Hobbies: Frisbee, tennis, travelling
Other interests: painting
Words you feel describe you: honest, content, impatient, compassionate

To tackle this problem, I noticed a lot of my partner's interests included activities which used her hands. Hands also incoporates the idea of "compassion", thus I decided to go with "hands" as the main theme for her mark.
